The South Carolina Community Rallies for Hydrocephalus

Olly Otter will join the Columbia WALK to End Hydrocephalus in its 10th year bringing together families from all over South Carolina to raise awareness and critical funds for this incurable brain condition.

Columbia, South Carolina (September 10, 2022) – The Hydrocephalus Association invites media members to attend the 10th annual WALK to End Hydrocephalus. Saturday, September 10, 2022, Stover Middle School, Elgin, SC.

Olly Otter and hundreds of families and medical professionals will rally to raise awareness and critical funds for hydrocephalus, an incurable, life-long neurological condition that affects over 1 million Americans. The walk is followed by a full day of family-oriented events.

This is one of 41 WALK events held across the country that are 100 percent volunteer-led and will help raise funds that will go toward the national goal of more than $2.1 million.

“We are honored to have Olly Otter from Meaningful Play and so many join us to stand with local patients, families and caregivers to help raise awareness and funds for critical research,” said Jessica Caulder, local WALK chair. I’m walking for my 15 year old daughter, who was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 9 months old.  She’s had 18 brain surgeries to manage this condition but I hope one day she will no longer need brain surgery because there will be a cure.”

“I’m coming to this walk, not just to support, but to be blessed and encouraged. These Hydro Warriors deal with battles I can’t imagine and they do it while smiling. Yes I want to come love on everyone and bring joy, but I attend to be inspired” said Olly Otter.

There is still time to register to participate:
