Natalia Martinez

As the Associate Director of Communications and Marketing, Natalia is responsible for developing and implementing the association’s communications, public relations, and marketing strategies and tactics. She serves as the primary point of contact for all internal and outgoing communications and public relations efforts, using a range of communications vehicles. She advances the goals of the association by building greater awareness of the challenges of hydrocephalus and greater support for the work of the organization, with the ultimate goal being to eliminate the occurrence of hydrocephalus or to find a prevention/cure for the 1 million Americans living with the condition.

Natalia has more than 20 years of demonstrated success in strategic communications, digital communications, media relations, marketing communications, internal communications, editorial/publications management, and writing and editing. After beginning her career in Corporate Communications for a large federal contracting company, Natalia went on to work as a Washington Correspondent covering education policy on Capitol Hill for a national trade publication. She then began her career in the nonprofit sector and decided that working for nonprofits was where her passion lied. She received her Bachelor of Science in Print Journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University.
