The Burlington Community Rallies for Hydrocephalus With the Hydrowarrior Ride

The Burlington community rallies together to raise critical funds and awareness with the 5th Annual Hydrowarrior Benefit and Charity Motorcycle Ride. All proceeds to benefit the Hydrocephalus Association.

Burlington, NC (September 6, 2022) – The Hydrocephalus Association invites media members to attend the 5th annual Hydrowarrior Benefit and Charity Motorcyle Ride. Saturday, September 10, 2022, Registration at 10am at Downhome Harley DavidsonThe cost is $10 per rider and $10 per passenger and this includes the after-party.

The ride starts at noon leaving the Downhome Harley Davidson and will make three local stops along the route. The first stop is Hog Wild Saloon, then Roadhouse 54333 Sports Bar, and ending at Lucky’s Saloon where the fun will continue with an after-party. The after-party includes food, raffles, silent auction and live music with DNDThe Mason Lovette Band and the Retro Band.

“We are so excited to be hosting this charity ride and benefit for the fifth year,” said Cathi Roberts, local event lead whose 19 year old daughter has hydrocephalus, “The event has been doubling in size each year. Last year we raised approximately $15k for critical hydroecephalus research and awareness.”

Hydrocephalus is a life-threatening chronic neurological condition that affects approximately 1 million Americans and there is no cure. Anyone can develop hydrocephalus as a result of a traumatic brain injury, including premature babies. Individuals can also be born with it, develop it as part of the aging process or acquire it as a result of infections or brain tumors, among other causes.

September is Hydrocephalus Awareness Month

During this event and throughout the month of September we will be turning the country blue and spreading awareness about hydrocephalus. We will help to educate the world on this incurable brain condition that affects over 1 million Americans.
