A Father’s Love Knows No Bounds

Media invited to the National Conference to meet the Marquez Family

AUSTIN, TX, July 14-16, 2022 – The Marquez Family, and other families, will be attending the National Conference on Hydrocephalus July 14-16 at the Austin Marriott Downtown and are available for interviews. They are also available for phone interviews at any time before or after conference. A brief on their story is below as well as more details on the conference.

Friday, August 27, 2021 was the date that changed the Marquez’s lives forever. A 29-week ultrasound showed their unborn baby, Luke, had a brain bleed. There were so many conditions that could develop from this, but they would not know the outcome of his diagnosis until Luke was born. Positivity and prayer helped them through and Luke was born healthy but with hydrocephalus. A medical condition that currently has no cure.

Luke is currently 8 months old and has had a total of 5 brain surgeries. His family is his rock and his Dad is a rockstar! Getting a tattoo on his head of the exact shunt that Luke has in his head.

“I got this tattoo so when Luke is older he doesn’t feel alone or different. The wording of the tattoo says His Fight is My Fight. He is not taking this journey alone. We fight with him every step of the way. Especially when he is not feeling well and in the hospital for another surgery, we are fighting alongside him emotionally and spiritually. This is not his fight alone!”  Carlos Marquez
