Stephanie Vogt, MS

Vice President of Supply Chain Strategy with Express Scripts at Cigna
Chair of HA St. Louis WALK since 2008

Board Member Since 2022

Stephanie (Buffa) Vogt developed hydrocephalus due to aqueductal stenosis.  She was shunted at six weeks of age and has had three shunt malfunctions.  She attended the Missouri University of Science & Technology where she obtained a BS in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Engineering Management.  She is currently the  Vice President for Pharmacy Product, Innovation & Communication at Express Scripts® Pharmacy.  Stephanie chairs the Hydrocephalus Association St. Louis WALK to a Cure annually in St. Louis, Missouri, raising more than $600,000 in the last 15 years for the association.  She and her husband Christopher have three children: Ellie (9), Ryan (7) and Barrett (5).  Together, they do a lot of laughing, yelling, running and playing.

Stephanie’s older sister Sarah Buffa has hydrocephalus as well, diagnosed at age 4 also due to aqueductal stenosis.  Sarah has had 32 shunt surgeries and at age 14 suffered a brain herniation due to her shunt malfunctioning.  She lost her ability to do all basic functions, such as talk, swallow, sit or walk.  Through many years of rehab, Sarah has not only relearned her basic skills but has overcome her disabilities.  She has even completed a BS and MS in Social work and today spends much of her time volunteering.  Sarah and all those with hydrocephalus Stephanie has met through the Hydrocephalus Association are her reason for chairing the walks each year.  Seeing your sister go from being an active athlete and star student one day to unable to communicate the next day drives Stephanie to volunteer, work hard, and raise money for the Hydrocephalus Association families.
