Hugh Allen is the TD Bank SVP & CRE South Division Head for the Carolinas & Georgia.  Based in Charlotte, N.C., his team provides construction and mini-perm loans, along with a full array of deposit and other related services to public and private developers and commercial real estate owners across the Carolinas, Southern Virginia and Georgia.

With over 25-years of commercial real estate experience, Hugh began his career in 1986 in Houston, TX with Coldwell Banker.  His banking career began in 1989 with PNC Bank, leading him to his first commercial real estate lending post in Washington, DC.  In 1996, he left PNC to join First Union’s Tyson’s Corner Commercial Real Estate office covering the Greater Washington, D.C. area.  In 1999, he moved to Raleigh, NC to serve as a regional president for First Union, responsible for general banking activities in Eastern NC.  He rejoined Commercial Real Estate in 2001after the First Union/Wachovia merger, and eventually became managing director in charge of Mid-Atlantic Commercial Real Estate in 2006.  Hugh continued in a similar capacity after Wells Fargo acquired Wachovia. Hugh joined TD Bank to assume his current role in 2014.

A Texas native, Hugh earned his bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas and his MBA at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business.

He is a member of such professional organizations as Urban Land Institute, The Real Estate Roundtable, International Council of Shopping Centers and was a founder of African American Real Estate Professionals (Washington, DC).  Additionally, Hugh is Past Chairman of the Trustee Board at St. Augustine’s College, and currently serves on the board of directors for The Research Triangle Foundation and The Arts Empowerment Project.  He is also Co-Founder of BP Basketball, Inc., a Charlotte based non-profit dedicated to mentoring youth through basketball.  He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Duke University Fuqua School of Business Keller Society and Iron Dukes, and supports numerous other community organizations in the Charlotte Area, including the Hydrocephalus Association WALK and the Steve Smith Foundation.

Hugh, his wife Natalie, and their two children, Andrew (19) who has hydrocephalus, and Chloe (15) live in Charlotte, N.C.
