There is no “typical” learning profile that can be assigned to a child with hydrocephalus. While there are commonalities in the learning differences seen in children with hydrocephalus, each child may be impacted more or less by one or many learning disabilities. We have created Teachers' Guides to give to your child's teacher(s) that address the common learning challenges faced by many children with hydrocephalus as well as their needs in mainstream classrooms. There is a different Teacher’s Handout for each stage of the educational journey, so be sure to choose the correct one for your child. It is critical to develop a collaborative and supportive relationship with your child’s teacher(s). Teachers are not just educators. They also serve as role models, mentors, and guides on your child’s educational journey.
