Memory joined HA in June 2016 as the Regional WALK Development Manager. She is responsible for fast tracking the expansion, in both human and financial capital, of the WALK to End Hydrocephalus in New York City, NY, Boston, MA, and Chicago, IL. She is responsible for growing revenue through WALK sponsorship and participant fundraising, as well as, working with local volunteer teams to build WALK committees and supporting partners. Currently situated in New York, Memory was responsible for initiating HA’s inaugural NYC WALK, raising nearly $40,000.
Memory is a California native who graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in English, Creative Writing. An elective grant writing course sent her to the Habitat for Humanity International headquarters in Atlanta to finalize a project, that later turned into an internship, and eventually a position. Thus began her career in charity work and her drive to impact the lives of others with her unique skills.
From Habitat for Humanity to a homeless shelter for newborn babies and their families, and onward to the St. Vincent de Paul Society where she eventually became the Director of Development, Memory has advanced through various fundraising positions. She has lead annual campaigns totaling nearly one million in revenue through various sources including appeals, grants, and special events. One such event was the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor Walk, which she helped to increase by over 114% to nearly $155,000 by 2015. Now at HA, she brings her amalgamated experience to help families living with hydrocephalus.
In her spare time, Memory enjoys designing and making shoes – a novice cordwainer. She also loves anything involving water (beach or pool – like a real California girl)!
