Oliver

Oliver was diagnosed with hydrocephalus at 18 months old when he suddenly developed difficulty walking.  He went from walking normally to being unable to make it a few steps without falling. After multiple scans, his doctors found a small brain tumor (tectal glioma) which caused a blockage resulting in hydrocephalus.

He is now 4 years old and has already had 2 brain surgeries – an ETV, which was unsuccessful, and a shunt placement surgery a month later.  Oliver recently had a seizure, which we are told is another complication of his hydrocephalus, that landed him in the hospital for a couple of days – but he doesn’t let any of this slow him down.  He loves going to preschool, and playing with his little sister, Kate.

Despite all he has been through, Oliver is always such a happy little boy that makes everyone smile.
