June Goto, PhD

2017 Innovator Award Recipient

TITLE:  Research Instructor, Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center

GOAL:  Understand the mechanisms of CSF accumulation in Posthemorrhagic Hydrocephalus (PHH).

Overview:

Dr. June Goto is a Research Instructor at Cincinnati Children’s Medical Center. The research of Dr. Goto is focused on how CSF flow gets disrupted in PHH patients. In her study, Investigation of Motile Cilia Functions in Posthemorrhagic Hydrocephalus, Dr. Goto will determine how intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) disrupts the development of motile cilia on ependymal cells. A better understanding of the cellular mechanisms of PHH are imperative to the development of novel treatments for PHH.
