Jennifer Strahle, MD
2017 Innovator Award Recipient
TITLE: Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery, Washington University
GOAL: Understanding how blood is cleared from the ventricles following IVH.
Overview:
Dr. Jennifer Strahle is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Washington University. The research of Dr. Strahle is focused on the ways in which IVH can lead to hydrocephalus. In her study, Intraventricular Hemorrhage Clearance Markers in Human Neonatal CSF, Dr. Strahle will investigate how blood is cleared from the ventricles following IVH. Understanding this may help determine why some people develop hydrocephalus following IVH while others do not. Furthermore, it will help in the development of targeted therapies to help clear the ventricles following IVH.
