GOAL:  Identify the causative organisms of postinfectious hydrocephalus (PIH) and the patient’s immune response to those organisms.

Dr. David Limbrick is the Chief of Pediatric Neurological Surgery at Washington University. The research of Dr. Limbrick is focused on obtaining a better understanding of the development of PIH. In his study, Pathogens and Host Immune Response in Post-Infectious Hydrocephalus, Dr. Limbrick will identify the organisms which cause PIH and characterize the immune response which they trigger.
