Brian Saphier

As the Chief Financial Officer, Brian is responsible for managing the financial situation of the organization as well as ensuring it is all accounted for correctly according to generally accepted accounting principles.  Brian prepares the organization’s annual budget, cash flow and monthly financial statements.  Brian analyzes this information and presents his conclusions to the senior staff as well as the Board of Directors with recommendations that will advance the mission of the Hydrocephalus Association (HA) in a fiscally responsible way.

Brian joined HA in 2018 after spending the previous four years working in the non-profit industry as the Director of Finance for a senior living community. He was very eager to extend his non-profit experience to a health organization that makes an impact on people’s lives every day.  Before joining the non-profit sector Brian worked for 9 years as controller and CFO of a third party health insurance administrator.  Having a for-profit background has helped Brian bring a wide array of experience, skills and tools to HA, but he is excited to leave the for-profit industry behind and focus on making an impact. Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and General Business from the University of Maryland.
