It is the 19th year for the scholarship program! We are very pleased to offer nine scholarships to teens and young adults affected by hydrocephalus. The amount of each award is $1,000. As of today, HA has awarded ninety-four scholarships to ninety-four deserving future leaders of our community.
“I don’t take no for an answer. Tell me I can’t do something and I will prove you wrong.
Nothing can stop me, not even hydrocephalus.”
Molly Fuchs- 2012 recipient
These scholarships are funded by the Hydrocephalus Association and by two Gerard Swartz Fudge Memorial Scholarship Funds, two Morris L. and Rebecca Ziskind Memorial Scholarship Funds, two Anthony Abbene Scholarship Funds, the Justin Scot Alston Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Mario J. Tocco Hydrocephalus Foundation Scholarship Fund, and the Giavana Marie Melomo Memorial Scholarship Fund.
It (hydrocephalus) has made it more difficult to succeed in school because I can’t see
as well as most. But it hasn’t stopped me from working hard.”
David Creighton- 2012 recipient
We are extremely grateful to all of the families who have made these scholarships possible for our teens and young adults to pursue their educational goals and careers. Please visit our scholarships page to learn more about the generous funders of this program.
“One of the best parts about having hydrocephalus is that it makes for an excellent essay,
whether it is for English class, college applications, or scholarships!”
Mary Conyard-2012 recipient
