Now Accepting Applications for 2014 Hydrocephalus Scholarships!
We are now accepting applications for our 2014 Scholarship Program. The scholarship program was established in 1994 to provide financial assistance to capable and promising teens and young adults who have been dealing with the ongoing challenges and complexities of hydrocephalus. This year marks the 20th year for the scholarship program and we are very pleased to offer eight scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Since the program was established, HA has awarded 103 scholarships to 103 deserving future leaders of our community.
“I believe in making the best of it and trying to inspire others. I’ve always believed that you choose your attitude. I want people to know that even though I have cerebral palsy (CP) and am in a wheelchair, I am really blessed and hope to be able to make a positive impact on others.” – Timothy Beighley, 2013 Recipient
These eight scholarships are funded by the Hydrocephalus Association as well as two Gerard Swartz Fudge Memorial Scholarship Funds, two Morris L. and Rebecca Ziskind Memorial Scholarship Funds, two Anthony Abbene Scholarship Funds, the Justin Scot Alston Memorial Scholarship Fund, and the Mario J. Tocco Hydrocephalus Foundation Scholarship Fund.
“Although there are challenges in life, they can always be overcome with support from family and friends and most importantly, an optimistic attitude.” – Jordan Rogers, 2013 Recipient
We are very grateful to all of the families who have made these scholarships possible for our teens and young adults to pursue their educational goals and careers. Please visit our scholarship page to learn more about the generous funders of this program.
“Hydrocephalus has affected my life, but it doesn’t define me.” – Melissa Bruebach, 2013 Recipient
