Moms on a MISSION: Vicki Brown, Visionary
As we head into Mother’s Day weekend, HA would like to extend its deepest gratitude to all of the mothers making a difference each and every day to move the Hydrocephalus Association one step closer to a cure. Over the next seven days we will profile a few members that have gone above and far beyond to further our reach. Please join us in thanking these amazing (S)HEroes in our community!
Vicki Brown – The Visionary
In 2012, Vicki, her husband, Craig Brown, and Paul Gross had a vision of conducting a series of high-profile events in the New York City area to raise awareness and engage potential donors in supporting the Hydrocephalus Association’s research efforts. This event would acknowledge the work of researchers, community members and advocates supporting HA and include a keynote address from leading researchers in the field. In 2013, this vision became a reality, thanks to the hard work of Vicki. The Vision Dinner successfully launched in New York City, attracting prominent business executives, major donors, researchers, congressional staff and medical providers. Under Vicki’s leadership, the organization produced two awareness videos that were debuted at the dinner, launched a strategic public relations campaign and raised $450,000 to date through this effort. The Vision Dinner has become a major awareness and fundraising strategy of HA and we are grateful to Vicki for making this event possible. #momonamission
