TITLE: Neurosurgery Resident
INSTITUTION: Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
GOAL: Identify Markers of Delayed Hydrocephalus Following Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH)

Overview:

Dr. Aristotelis Filippidis is a Neurosurgery Resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The research of Dr. Filippidis is focused on formulating a reliable and non-invasive method of predicting delayed hydrocephalus following SAH. In his study, Prediction of delayed hydrocephalus with MRI and CSF analysis of iron levels in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, Dr. Filippidis will use MRI and CSF analysis to identify markers of delayed hydrocephalus. The development of a method to predict delayed hydrocephalus development can help lower the poor cognitive outcomes associated with delayed hydrocephalus.
