Sally Baldus retired in 2012 as a Director of the American Lung Association’s (ALA) National Planned Giving Team, covering the California, Plains Gulf, Mountain Pacific, and Southwest regions. Before joining the national ALA staff, she served as Director of Major and Planned Giving for the ALA of San Diego, CA. Prior positions include Director of Major and Planned Giving, United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania; Director of Major and Planned Giving, United Way of San Diego County; and Director, Major Giving, American Red Cross, Bay Area Chapter, San Francisco, CA.

She has been active with the Hydrocephalus Association for over 20 years. She is the aunt to Gerard Swartz Fudge, the son of HA founders, Emily and Russell Fudge, which has kept her closely connected and dedicated to the Association. A former Chair of the Board of Directors, she recently created the Fudge Solomon Legacy Society, and also chairs the Association’s Scholarship Committee which provides one year grants to young adults with hydrocephalus who are beginning education beyond high school. She is honored to be invited back to serve on the HA board, where she hopes to advance the work of the Fudge Solomon Legacy Society and continue developing the scholarship award program.

She holds a BA in Political Science from Chatham College and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa. She has also taken continuing education classes at the University of Pennsylvania.
