Barrett O’Connor is a graduate of Georgetown University and Notre Dame Law School. She served as a Judge Advocate while on active duty in the U.S. Navy. Subsequently, she became a government contracts and construction litigation attorney with the firms of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Thelen, Reid & Priest in Washington, D.C. Most recently, O’Connor was assistant General Counsel at the Mortgage Bankers Association.
For the past ten years, O’Connor has been actively involved in fundraising for medical research into hydrocephalus. She was elected to the Hydrocephalus Association’s Board of Directors in 2009 when HA launched its Research Initiative, a particular interest of hers. She co-founded the National Capital 5K Run/Walk for HA in 2011and has hosted several fundraisers for HA’s Mentored Young Investigator program and all of its research programs. She was elected Chair of the Board in January 2013.
