Shenandoah Robinson, MD

2016 Innovator Award Recipient

TITLE:  Professor of Neurosurgery, Johns Hopkins University

GOAL:  Understand molecular mechanisms of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus of prematurity (PHHP).

Overview:

Dr. Shenandoah Robinson is a Professor of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University. The research of Dr. Robinson is focused on the ways in which early damage from intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), can cause PHHP. In her study, Mechanisms of posthemorrhagic hydrocephalus of prematurity, Dr. Robinson will determine how damage to the cells lining the ventricles contributes to the development of hydrocephalus and use clinically available drugs to enhance natural repair processes in hopes of reversing this damage.
