TEAM HYDRO was founded in 2007 by brother's Peter and Sam Finlayson. The team participates in the annual Alcatraz Sharkfest Swim hoping to do more than just survive: they seek to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit Hydrocephalus Association. Their efforts are inspired by the struggle of their sister, Kate who lives with this condition. There is no cure for Hydrocephalus, a life-threatening condition affecting the brain which afflicts 1 million Americans. Team Hydro members come from across the country and range in age from 14 to 60! Come join the team!! |

TEAM HYDRO would like to thank the over 200 individuals who supported us this year to make our second annual plunge into the 53 degree, shark-infested water a huge success! We all arrived safely in San Francisco and did it in style! Team Hydro swept the podium in the non-wetsuit division claiming 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th places! Even better, we generated tons of awareness, exceeded our fundrasing goal (bringing our total contribution to the fight against hydrocephalus to nearly $35,000), and brought a big smile to Kate's face while she was in the hospital! | |
